Fortunate Valentine’s Cookies

Fortunate Valentines ~ Lynlee's

Several years ago, I wanted to come up with a Valentine’s Day craft with which my then almost four year old could help to hand out to her preschool friends and teachers. I thought the idea of dipping fortune cookies into Wilton candy melts, adding sprinkles, then packaging them up into miniature Chinese take-out boxes would be perfect, as it wasn’t too difficult and most importantly, she could participate in putting together! We added a little tag reading: Fortunate to have a Valentine like you!

Though she handed out her Out of this World Valentines to her classmates this year, I needed to come up with an idea for gifts for all the teachers at her school. Our PTO shows our gratitude every year during Teacher Appreciation Week, but we also believe in thanking our teachers periodically throughout the year. So, about every six weeks, we hand out little gifts or treats to our school staff and guess who’s in charge of this?! When thinking of something simple to make, yet super cute, I figured why not re-visit this idea and hand out Fortunate Valentine’s cookies to our teachers! After hand-dipping all 300 cookies, I made tags with a precious fortune cookie image from Jin Godwin Designs and attached them to Valentine full-sized take-out boxes from Wal-Mart. They were a hit!

Any plans to celebrate Valentine’s Day tomorrow?

Merci Beaucoup!
