Never Miss a Post!

It’s Groundhog Day! Predicting a Long, but Sweet Winter!

Groundhog Day fondant push pop tutorial ~ Lynlee's

One of my dad’s absolute favorite movies is Groundhog Day {you know, the one where Bill Murray wakes up to the same day every morning} and can watch it every time he encounters it on television… which is often! It’s a classic that the whole fam loves to watch and that really introduced us to the tradition of anticipating the groundhog’s weather prediction. Legend has it that if this fuzzy little creature sees its shadow when it emerges from its burrow, we should expect an additional six weeks of Winter. Though many people in cold weather areas can be a bit bummed by the news, as a resident of Las Vegas, I never mind a prolongation of the chilly season, as I know the scorching heat is soon to come!

Peek-a-Boo Bunny Push-Ups

A few years ago, I created this Peek-a-Boo Bunnies tutorial for Easter and I thought the concept would be perfect for a Groundhog Day! You can fill the push pop containers with a variety of treats, such as cake, frosting, candy, etc. I chose to utilize chocolate pudding, topped with ground Oreo cookies to resemble dirt.

Groundhog's Day fondant tutorial ~ Lynlee's

For a fun project this Groundhog Day {February 2nd}, follow the step-by-step instructions on the Craftsy blog to create this sweet little guy peeking out to reveal his weather prognosis. Spoiler alert: I think we are still looking at another six weeks of Winter! Eek!

Merci Beaucoup!
