We are in the midst of Fall, though it’s hard to tell with the current weather here in the US, as the majority of the country is blanketed in snow, while the West Coast temperatures seem to be higher than usual! But regardless of the present climate, Thanksgiving is a mere five days away and the preparations to welcome families and friends for upcoming dinners and celebrations are in full swing. This year, we will actually be doing things a bit differently, as we will be partaking in a Thanksgiving brunch prior to heading out to a 49ers football game {we’re big fans as you might remember from our Bittersweet Super Bowl party from last year}, so in honor of this twist on the holiday, I was thinking of alternative to the traditional turkey.
How cute would it be to welcome WHOO’s coming to dinner with an adorable fondant owl?! You can easily top your cupcakes, cakes or even classic treats, like pies! Follow the step-by-step owl fondant tutorial on the Craftsy blog to re-create this precious little creature for Fall, baby shower and birthday themes.
For an alternative to this owl, you can also find this sweet little owl fondant tutorial included in my book Sweet & Unique Cupcake Toppers that you might recognize from the cover! And if you’re looking to incorporate the traditional Thanksgiving design as well, make sure to gobble up the turkey fondant tutorial, encouraging you to eat cake, not turkey! 😉
Happy Thanksgiving, sweet friends!
