Thanksgiving is coming up in just a little over two weeks {how is that possible?!} and we’ll be packing up to do our traditional travel to Northern California to spend the holiday with our family. I remember my daughter’s very first Thanksgiving at seven months old, which incidentally was also her very first plane ride. The flight started out with my worst fear as a mother of a baby coming to fruition: my child screaming her head off in the middle of the plane… as we sat on the runway… and the flight attendant asking on the loud speaker, “Everyone hear the baby crying?!” Good times. My husband and I passed her back and forth between each other when she finally fell asleep in my arms, as I was leaning forward in a bit of an awkward position. We were fortunate the flight was only one hour because I sat there in that very position and didn’t move a muscle until we landed. Phew. I could finally breathe. We survived, but not without passengers telling us Anabelle had “some lungs” and that we should sign her up for “American Idol”. It was about that time that I turned to my husband and informed him we had just inadvertently moved to Northern CA because I didn’t think I could ever get back on a plane with a baby! lol! Luckily, that was the only time she ever had a melt down on a plane, even through a couple of international flights to Brazil, and no move was necessary. 😉
