Never Miss a Post!

Do You Want to Build a Snowman… or Two?!

February 23, 2015 By Lynlee

Snowman fondant tutorial ~ Lynlee's

It has been an incredibly harsh Winter for many around the country, though you wouldn’t know living here in Vegas, where it has actually been unseasonably warm! We have been under the impression that the Groundhog was incorrect in his recent prediction! Just this past weekend, my family and I stayed at a local hotel where we spent the afternoon enjoying the 70° sun at the pool!

Well, the following day, the temperature dropped about 30° and we were immediately transported back to the reality of Winter. Well… a West Coast Winter, that is! So much so, that it actually snowed in parts of Las Vegas today! Though snowfall ’round these parts doesn’t produce enough to stick to the ground long enough to build snowmen, it immediately made me think of the ones I can actually build ~ out of fondant, of course!

Fancy fondant snowmen ~ Lynlee's

I made this set of fancy shmancy snowmen for the Glitter Gold dessert table that Jenny Cookies so beautifully styled for the Santa’s Secret Workshop event in 2013. I loved dressing them up in a variety of cold weather accessories and decided to create a tutorial to make a similar snowman couple. Have fun changing up the hats and scarves with the step-by-step instructions featured on Cake Central to create your own!

Snowman couple Minnie ears ~ Lynlee's

And, of course, this Disney lover couldn’t help putting some Minnie Mouse ears on the little snowman! Actually, our Elf on the Shelf, Chipmunk, utilized her to surprise my daughter with a trip to Disneyland over the holidays, as seen on my Instagram feed!

Wherever you are and whatever the weather, you can always build a sweet little snowman… or two!

Merci Beaucoup!
