Ahoy, me hearties! Do you buccaneers know that today be “Talk Like a Pirate Day”?!
Pirates continue to be an extremely prominent theme for children’s parties, cakes and cupcakes due to the popularity of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies and “Jake and the Neverland Pirates” animated television series. The beauty of this theme is that it’s entertaining {unlike real pirates!}, there are endless party activities and decoration ideas and boys AND girls of ALL ages can partake in the fun!
I made these swashbucklin’ spuds for Dreamin’ N Details for her son’s Mr. Potato the Pirate party! The fondant toppers were inspired by adorable custom printables by Piggy Bank Parties for the theme that merged the birthday boy’s desire to be a pirate and love of his favorite toy!
Shiver me timbers! I made these fondant cupcake toppers for a dear friend whose son was turning one with a pirate-themed celebration. It was fun to make the fondant map with some edible markers, which could even be a fun activity for the kids!
Walk the Plank! Pure Joy Events featured her sister-in-law, Thuy’s amazing Pirate Party thrown for her son and daughter, demonstrating the ability to appeal to both boys and girls! I provided these cake and cupcake fondant toppers to match the theme, incorporating both three-dimensional and flat designs.
The fabulous Million Dollar $mile Celebrations threw a gorgeous Vintage Disneyland Park party for her daughter and I had the pleasure of making some fondant cupcake toppers to resemble some of the iconic Fantasyland rides, including this Peter Pan design. You can’t think of this classic story without visualizing Captain Hook and the Neverland pirates!
And speaking of Peter Pan, our family loves this classic story, which combined with the 2004 movie “Finding Neverland”, provided tons of inspiration for my daughter’s Finding Neverland 4th birthday party! We included pirate hooks, inflatable swords, scarves, eye patches and booty inside stained treasure boxes for guests to plunder and plenty of swashbucklin’ fun!
Blimey! You want more pirate dessert inspiration?! Then batten down the hatches and head on over to the Craftsy blog to check out my round-up of cakes, cupcakes and sweets to please any aspiring buccaneer! And follow the path to Pinterest for additional party ideas from some shipshape and amazing party peeps! ♥
Merci Beaucoup!
