Never Miss a Post!

Sweet Winter Wonderland

December 22, 2011 By Lynlee

Today marks the first day of Winter! I have officially been on vacation this week and admit there have been several naps involved in my week’s itinerary, just like my good ‘ole friend, Snoopy! The temperature has been fairly mild here in Vegas, which has been pleasant, but I wouldn’t mind it getting a bit colder to make it feel more like the holidays are here! When growing up in Brazil, we spent our Christmases in the Summer sun, but I always longed for a Winter Wonderland with a blanket of snow outside and sipping hot cocoa inside by the fire… just like in the movies! But alas, it rarely snows here in the dessert, though last year we did get a tad and we were fortunate enough to experience it until it melted two hours later!
As I enjoy my time off to relax with the fam during the holidays, I thought I’d share some of the designs I worked on recently…
The amazing Holiday issue of Bird’s Party’s Magazine was released earlier in the season and I was honored to have made these penguin toppers for the fabulous Mindy at Creative Juice, who styled the most gorgeous party inspired by Bird’s Party’s Cool Igloo collection! My four-year-old also wanted in on the action!
I was also thrilled to have collaborated with Michelle at I Do Invitations by Michelle for her absolutely adorable Merry & Bright shoot for the Holiday issue of Baby Lifestyles Magazine!
Wendy at Green Beansie Cards designed a beautiful Skiing Snowman Fair Isle collection, which was featured on Kara’s Party Ideas, for which I created these sweater and mitten toppers!
One of my amazing clients, Anne, was not only throwing a “Santas Around the World” holiday party, but she also planned on surprising her guests by getting married!!! I was so privileged to have been asked to create these festive and international toppers for such a special and joyous occasion! Congratulations again, Anne and hubbie! ♥
The fabulous and nine months pregnant (at the time!) Tonya from Soiree Event Design threw an adorable Whimsical Christmas Soiree party for her daughter’s Girl Scout troop and used my toppers to create a cupcake bar where the girls could decorate their own cupcakes! Tonya always uses the toppers in the most creative ways!
I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Miranda from Whimsical Printables in person over the Summer and besides being a pistol, she is also the sweetest! Miranda threw two Christmas parties over the last couple of weeks for her kiddos: An adorable Pink Elvis Christmas Party for her daughter and the cutest Santa’s Workshop Party for her twin boys!
I also shared the Mele Kalikimaka tropical Christmas party we threw to commemorate my husband’s birthday earlier this week. I seriously had such a fun time creating the goodies for this party, including these cupcake toppers and just thinking of how much fun Santa and his friends would be having on a post-Christmas vacay!
Sweet Maylene from Malu Boutiques contacted me to create some toppers to match a snowman decoration she had for a party, whom she named Charlie! Snowmen need to keep warm, too!
And lastly, edible fondant holiday card that originally debuted in the Holiday issue of the Bird’s Party Magazine! Bird is the “tweetest” ever and when she contacted me to create an edible card, I thought it was ingenious!!! She gave me full creative freedom, with the only stipulation that it should reflect my “style”, so I decided to make a sweet cupcake tree card, of course!
Hope you’re having a wonderful holiday season, no matter the weather! ♥

Merci Beaucoup!
